About Deacons and Team Ministry at First Baptist Church of Clayton

The 24-member Deacon Ministry at First Baptist Church is made up of both men and women of God. The role of the deacon is that of spiritual leadership through service to God, the church body, and the lost.

The Deacon Ministry plays a very important role in guiding and helping church members through difficult times, especially when there is sickness or death. The Deacons also serve and lead Ministry Teams that include lay people within the church.

You do not have to be a member of our church to serve on a ministry team.

Bereavement Ministry Team

A ministry of visitation, providing love and support, to families who have lost loved ones.

Casserole Ministry Team

A ministry of providing food for those dealing with health concerns or other issues.

Celebration Ministry Team

A ministry recognizing birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms, etc,. to our church family.

Homebound Ministry Team

A ministry of contact by personal visitation, phone calls or correspondence to homebound church members.

Hospital Visitation Ministry Team

A ministry of visitation for church members in the hospital.

Inactive Member Ministry Team

A ministry to reconnect with inactive church members.

New Member Ministry Team

A ministry of introducing new members to our church family and various worship, fellowship and ministry opportunities.

Prayer Ministry Team

A ministry of prayer and sending cards or personal notes of encouragement from the church.

Small Jobs Ministry Team

A ministry to assist church members who need help with light household maintenance or yard work.

Transportation Ministry Team

A ministry of providing transportation for church members to and from church services, special events, doctor’s appointments, etc.

Visitor Ministry Team

A ministry of welcoming visitors to First Baptist Church and making them aware of worship and ministry opportunities.
